Your fire alarm system is only as reliable as its last service. Maintained to BS 5839-1 by brigade-experienced professionals.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must ensure that fire detection and alarm systems are maintained in proper working order. BS 5839-1 sets out the requirements for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm systems in non-domestic premises.
The standard requires that fire alarm systems receive at least two routine inspections per year, with no more than six months between visits. Each inspection must be carried out by a competent person and documented in a service record available for inspection by the fire authority.
Failure to maintain your fire alarm system does not just create legal exposure. It puts lives at risk. A system that fails to detect or alert during a fire event is the difference between a safe evacuation and a tragedy.
Full inspection of all detection devices, call points, sounders, panels and wiring. Every device is functionally tested and the results recorded in a BS 5839-1 compliant service log.
